Fridge repair advice

    Hi,
Just looking from advice from anyone whose had a similar problem/knows about these things:

My 5 year old larder fridge stopped working over the weekend.
Its still got power and the light is on but its stopped cooling and turning the cooling dial up does nothing. No sounds from it and the temperature has slowly crept up to room temperature. Tried switching it off for a while etc. but nothing happens.
Did a bit of investigation of the symptoms and most likely looks like the defrost timer or cool control may need to be replaced. Its out of warranty so I'd be stuck for labour and parts charges to repair it.
It cost me 300 yoyos when I bought it. Current model to replace it would cost about 400+.
Anyway my question is , Is it worth getting the repair done?
It's 5 years old and I'd imagine that after paying callout charge + labour + parts I'd be looking at shelling out at least 150 yoyos + , with no guarantee that its going to get fixed until they open it up and have a look at the problem.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

is the motor running?if not it might only be the termostat but u still looking at 120 euros to replace -if motor is running it could be a gas issue where u would be better off replacing the fridge

    .

As you righly point out - to get someone to look at it will cost you €150. To fix it they'll probably have to go get part and come back, more money. TBH If it was me I'd just buy a new one, and have the comfrt of a new frige with 1-2 years guarantee, rather than keeping a five year old model going, for a cost approx half that of the new fridge.

    Thanks for the replies.
    Motor is not running.
I've been onto the service department and they look for a €114 call-out charge. With parts on top of this I'm probably not going to see any change from €200.
Not particularily happy with the fridge anyway as it seems to have difficulty maintaining a constant temperature for a long time now (possibly a symptom of it not working anymore) so I've decided to go and buy a new one.
Bad timing financially but these things never happen at a good time :(
