Booked a 12 day trip to Southern California (namely 15 miles north of san diego) for christmas and new year and was wondering if anyone out there has been there for the holiday season and what the atmosphere is like / weather/ availability of restaurants and bars over the holidays.

    cheers!

I was in San Diego some time back for New Years and there wasn't a lot going on, TBH. Now it may have been where we were staying (not far from Seaworld), but they didn't seem to do the whole New Years thing.

As for the weather, well I got sunburned on New Years day. 'nuff said.
