Booking your tickets helps to plan, you won't have to pay in full until 2 months before hand in most places. I'd say the sooner the better to help you really figure out your route! RTW tickets basic are more or less the one price but the season, and your desination (local taxes) will alter the price.

didnt know that about being able to pay 2 months before hand, thats handy:) .
hoping to go in jan via s. america. be summer there then. does that mean more expensive ticks?
got a rough quote a couple of weeks ago based on this years prices from trailfinders. fly into Rio and out of santiago to auckland, stopover in australia and then to singapore. gonna head overland as far as hongkong and fly home from there. quoted at about 2000 yoyos. this is just an idea/suggested route. it might even be too much to take on for the 8/9 months, dont wanna be on the move all the time. looking for some hints and advice really. thanks
