my 9 year old son, bought his first camera yeaterday , a samsung 6 MP easy to use p & s, in DID for 100 euros .
It seams pretty decent for 100 , so I decided to bring him on his first trip today , and we headed to wicklow, and it rained , and then rained again ... so we headed to avondale , where surprisinly it rained even more .. got out of the car he was snapping away happily , then i realised my battery ran out and the camera got soaked .
Got my p & s out, and surprise surprise it stopped raining, and the whole place looked amazing , Spring like green , so thanks for the heads up about this place , he seamed to enjoy it as well ..

    theres a few up on

Hey Baz you beat me to it - gave my oldest my old P&S and we were supposed to go on a joint shooting/shopping trip together on Saturday but it was raining when we were leaving the house so I left the cameras at home. Boy was I disgusted when we got to town and the Gay Pride march was on! :(

I'm about to fall down with tiredness here - will look at Flickr tomorrow...

The rain can be great for a shot. Umbrellas are not to be feared.

up late watching Glastonbury -- anyway i'll shoot in any weather , wind, sun, cold , snow ... but i hate shooting in rain , the lens gets soaked , and i don't think all that water can be good for the camera:mad:

Taking photos at a young age is great and even better when its digital as it doesn't cost much, remember my first camera when I was 7/8, my dad brought it back from Canada.

he actually takes some nice shots, he probably get it from his mother who is an artist , rather than me .
The camera is so easy to use , no optical zoom, no half shutter , the quality is reasonable , and lots of different effect templates which he loves.
