Again (like the Ros v Sligo) like last week, not the glamour match of the weekend. How in ever would anyone like to make sensible predictions?

Mine - Galway to win by 3 points

Galway are very strong favourites after their surprisigly easy win over Mayo.

Leitim had a reasonable work-out against London, but will have to up that performance considerably to beat the Tribesmen. If Galway keep the ball moving in fast to the full-forward line, then there will be only one outcome. Leitrim will try and crowd midfield in order to stop the supply of ball going into Joyce and Bane.

Leitrim at home are a totally different proposition that if they were away, so I think it will be closer than a lot of people think.

Still I think that galway will win this by about 4+ points

Brilliant performance by Leitrim. They played with great passion and commitment. Very tough draw in the qualifiers but maybe they will pull off a shock;) ;)

A good performance by Leitrim today, but Galway were well below par. Except for Nicky Joyce, and in patches Ja Fallon, the 6 forwards didnt do a whole pile.

As well as that I thought that Forde was very nieve leaving Damien Burke on Maxwell, especially when it was clear to everyone that Burke was out of his depth.

As for the Connact final, it will be a toss up to see who wins. I have a feeling that Galway will win, but not in a manner that will convinve some of their supporters that they are "dar horses" for the All-Ireland.

Good performance today, however you always felt the Galway could have stepped up another notch if it was needed. Leitrim didnt take their chances plain and simple. Same old story. They missed some handy points and 2 goal chances in the second half. Donegal will be a different kettle of fish altogether. They will be out to exact revenge for the beating they got against Tyrone. I cant see Leitrim winning TBH but here's hoping.

Damien Burke is a top class defender so I wouldn't say he was out of his depth. However he was giving away a fair few inches in height to Declan Maxwell so struggled to contain him in the air. Finian Hanley went off but I don't know if he was injured or just hauled off.

I'm sure he is, but Maxwell scored some savage points and anytime he got the ball he looked dangerous. I'm sure someone else could have done a better job on him.

Again Leitrim go close in Carrick. I can't imagine anyone for Connacht being shocked by this performance. In the last 3-4 years Leitrim have run Mayo, Galway, Roscommon and Meath close up there. Dessie Dolan's a good manager. They will give Donegal a run too.

In fact IMO if they were playing either Sligo or Ros up there yesterday they would have won pulling up.

Galway will walk the final. Sligo never turn up in these situations, it's a mental thing. Also expect Sean Armstrong back the next day. He looked dangerous when he came on. I don't care what you say about Galway they have 6-7 forwards who can score and most days only 2 need to show up to win a match

To be fair to Galway they've beaten Mayo and Leitrim with only a couple of their forwards playing well. If they can get 4 or 5 of them playing well all on the same day they'll be in business.

Yes but unfortunately this hasn't been happening. No doubt if Galway's forwards did all click on the same day they'd be a handful for any team.

Still 0-17 is a decent score and their finishing was pretty good, didn't kick many wides. Leitrim performed well enough and matched Galway in most respects but their finishing by contrast was very wasteful, that was ultimately the difference. Alot of good approach play and hard graft went to waste for them.

Galway will need to improve on that display to have any chance of going beyond the last 8, but the potential is there. Michael Meehan's poor form is a concern though. I don't agree with anyone who thinks the Sligo game will be easy. Galway should win it although Sligo are long overdue a win against Galway and it will happen some time, if Galway give Sligo as many scoring chances as Leitrim got they will lose.

I think Sligo have a decent chance but they have an absolutely woeful record against Galway at all levels of football. This could mean that if the game starts going against them they might start thinking "here we go again" or on the other hand maybe they are finally due a win against Galway. One thing Sligo don't have though is a big lump up front (who's also a fine footballer) like Declan Maxwell. Think the Galway backs who to be fair have been playing very well as a unit up to yesterday will be more comfortable with Sligo's smaller forwards

For Galway Michael Meehan's form must be a worry. Nicky Joyce, Cormac Bane (against Mayo) and Sean Armstrong (as a sub against Leitrim) have all produced good performances. Meehan hasn't. I read somewhere today that Galway might be better served moving him into his natural position of full-forward and moving Padraig Joyce out to centre-forward. A change of scenery for Meehan might work for him.

I think Galway will get past Sligo and then they'll have a quarter-final. I can see them winning a quarter-final depending on the draw but I think a semi-final place would be the limit of their ambitions this year.

Forgive me if I've missed this above but I didn't see it mentioned.

What do people think of the referee's decision to stop the game to fix his earpiece? Leitrim were coming out with the ball when he stopped it. He threw in the ball and subsequently Galway scored a point.

An absolute crazy decision to make in a championship game.

Yeah, I thought it was bad form on the part of the ref as well. He literally stopped a Leitrim attack, and then gave Galway the opportunity to get another score on the board.

It would be one thing if he stopped it for some lad down injured, but to stop it to get his earpiece fixed was ludicrous. If I was a Leitrim fan, I would have been raging at that decision.

It was a bad decision alright but he made plenty of those on the day.

Joyce's disallowed goal. Didn't see much wrong with it. Just overprotection of the keeper.

    Armstrong's good point waved wide.

One of the Leitrim points in the second half looked wide yet was given. At least this one was marginal.

He was way too whistle happy.

I thought he didnt allow the game to flow enough really , This seemed to be more of a disadvantage to Leitrim as they would be looking to play the quick ball but the ref would call the play back giving Galway time to regroup, Also if i was a Leitrim man I would be pissed off with the condescending reporting by RTE and others after the match going on about a great "brave" performance by Leitrim , they came to win that game and I find it incredibly belittling on them when the cliches like that come out.
