anyone watching this at the moment?

it's on BBC interactive with a choice of four bands through out the day or watch the bbc3's coverage with edith bowman and zane lowe.

watching bloc party now, it's quite cool at the amount of choice we have.

love to see our national broadcaster do something like this.

Unfortunaly she was on yesterday... personally I'd prefer to see actual live coverage than just the usual BBCi 25-min repeats. Still its pretty decent and it's got the great Lauren Laverne (who I'm sorely missing from Xfm's breakfast show these days)... can't stand Edith myself.

The Kooks are on BBC3 live.

saw biffy clyro on it today, how rock n roll is it that they play a set and then are shipped off on a helicopter to support muse in paris.

Saw most of it last night, quite enjoyed Arctic Monkeys, looking forward to The Who tomorrow.

Btw, anyone catch Peaches Geldof and that guy from The Cribs on BBC3 (i think) last night on Colin Murray's coverage. Dear god....vapid, spoilt muppets.

I'd now add to the aforementioned The Horrors. If those nme flavour of the month tools spent as much time on their hair as their music, we'd have a new Beatles on our hands.

Pity, she didn't play my favourite song (Tears dry on their own)

60 year olds blow everybody away. What a utterly stunning perfromance.

A bit sad really that the old timers had to show the current crop what rock and roll is really about.

Just got back to civilisation, now I'll have to try and find coverage of all the bands on youtube seeing as I only saw a couple of bands through the whole weekend as I was too busy getting wasted elsewhere on the site. We are due a mud free years for a change now though.

ahh yeah.. both of those were excellent also. Iggy & The Stooges were on Jonathan Ross friday night, gave a pretty decent performance there.

Sorry I was referring to Iggy & The Stooges:)

I did post before yesterday which seemed to be the strongest day performance wise.

Yeah, just like how the BBC show exclusively UK acts

Still recovering myself too, it was amazing!
For once I actually spent the whole weekend going from one act to another instead of getting wasted and stumbling around taking in all the random sites ;)
Highlights of the weekend were Seasick Steve, Chemical Brothers, Damien Dempsey, Gogol Bordello and of course The Waterboys!

I went to a lot of Irish acts as well. Kila were surprisingly good. Fionn Regan was very quiet but was pleasant enough, Damien Rice gave it loads during his headline slot in the acoustic tent. Strangest moment had to be around 20 people turning up for the Republic of Loose in one of the smaller tents but they still performed their songs as if playing in front of a few thousand like they normally do, class.

Anyone got any links for video or audio downloads of some of the acts, especially Chemical Brothers?

There are a couple of torrents I've seen listed for the Chemicals on doing a search for Glastonbury coverage, I've not seen what they are like though as I'm in the process of getting some captures of the full programs at the moment.

I have a class 2 minute clip of Chemical Brother's playing Star Guitar recorded on my camera. If someone can tell me a decent freeware program to reduce the size of it to below 100mb I can post it on youtube?

    Edit: Here we go

Act of the weekend were Tinariwen for me. Great festival again and shame about the mud. Felt the music was also weaker this time around, although I was at Roskilde last year which had better music but Glasto is more magical and nothing beats going nuts in the diner in Lost Vagueness at 6am on Monday morning

Also seen a lot of Irish acts, thought Republic of loose were a joke(first time seeing them) and it reflected with about 50 people watching. Mr Dempsy was good and Kila were class.

Dylan project was the best random thing I went too but seen loads of stuff on the Friday and wasn't arsed the next 2 days.

Oh and did anyone see the Arcade Fire? I thought it was a feckin joke it was so bad.

All that horrible mud looks disgusting and uncomfortable. I could never go to that festival no matter what the lineup was just because i need to be comfortable to be happy. Sun festivals are the best.

The mud really wasn't that bad this year I don't think. '97 and '98 were much worse and '05 was only bad on one day and resulted in a 6ft deep lake on one side of the site, which admittedly meant that it was a very bad year if you ended up caught in it. The drainage seemed to work very well this year though and it didn't result in any large puddles forming in the middle of the stage areas. It was actually a lot worse in the moments when it had stopped raining for a little while and the mud had started to dry out a bit along the pathways meaning that you started to get your feet stuck at every step.

I highly recommend going by campervan though as you get that extra touch of luxury and plenty of space around you as I think that people had more problems finding caming spots this year due to an extra 30,000+ people turning up early on the buses which meant that most of the spaces had been taken before the thursday.

Which stage were they headlining? :o

You're seriously saying that's the best band you saw? It must have been one dreadful festival.

I fully agree with this, total and utter anti-climax! I can't quite put my finger on it but the tempo didnt seem right at all and the sound was mediocre. The Chemical Brothers showed what the sound system on the other stage is capable off!

    Me too.

Absolutely. They appeared in the evening on Sunday at Jazzworld, their hypnotic sound just fitted with the mood perfectly, seemed to resonate with everyone there. It was one of those moments I guess, you had to be there - the brilliance of that 60-odd minutes was more than the sum of the musical parts. Absolutely awesome :)

What he said, ye had to be there. I never even heard of the band before but stumbled across them after the first song and had some of mothers finest which left me was memorized for the hour.

I was really disappointed with them. I know they had sound problems. They started 10/15 mins late and they were taking a long time between songs.
They didn't put on the show the normally do. Picked it up near the end but thats not hard when they've song like Wake Up.

Summed up the whole weekends music really for me. No one stood out. bad sound and atmosphere...

We enjoyed the arcade fire but then again we were right up the front so it was easy to overlook any problems.
