OK I'm thinking of getting a MAC but the one issue I have yet to sort is whats the deal with mac's and virus's. I know mac is more resistant to virus attack then windows but do I need an anti virus for extra protection.

Also If I do which do you recommend.

There are anti-virus programs for the mac but they're mostly bloatware/useless crap sold to ex-windows users who feel more secure by having them. Your best virus protection on a mac is an RSS feed to a mac news site, then if the virus situation changes you'll know all about it. But right now you don't need anything.

Just avoid HP software, closest thing to a virus on a mac. :D

Been using Macs for over 6 years. Never had virus software. No need*

I seriously wouldn't hand over any money for an anti virus program for the Mac as they almost entirely pointless. Still if you want one just to be safe I recommend clamxav. It does the job and its free.
