decent Gaming laptop on dell

Ok, I know dell isn;t the best for gaming, but I seem unable to find the halfway decent cards they used to stock.

I had my eye on an Inspiron6400 with an x1400 graphics card and dual core Intel processor.

What's the best laptop I can get using dell for gaming for under e800?(max 850)
Might be tricky now but I seem unable to find any decent laptops on dell anymore.

You might get a low spec 9400 on the outlet with a 7900GS for around that. Why with such a low budget do you need a gaming laptop?

7900 will do me fine.
Not talking gaming as in a very powered one, I'd be very happy with one that lets me play Oblivion on middle settings.

By Dell outlet are you talking about their eBay store or do they have a real website for it?

7900GS is light years better.

Singloud, wait for the replacement for the 6400 to come out they are DX 10 and will have two new graphics card options the top one a 256MB completly dedicated nVidia.

Should be out in the next day or so. If you don't like em, pick an old 6400/9400 off the outlet

Just because its DX10/256mb/dedicated nVidia doesn't mean its fast.

At the moment they are selling the old and new model side by side

I got a Inspiron 9400 with 2gb ram, 1.8ghz core 2 duo, 100gb 7200rpm hard drive and best of all Nvidia 7900 GS, for about €930 with the VAT off. This was at the time (and probably still is) a saving of about a grand off what it'd cost you on the main dell store.

Keep a very good eye on www.dell.ie/outlet night and day, and when a bargain comes up snap at it. I was looking for over a week..

Keep checking Dell outlet. They had a load of identically specced 9400's a couple of weeks ago @ €840 ex vat+del - T7200,2GB667,100GB 7,200, WUXGA/Truelife,7900GS. I'm raging I didn't buy a few. Haven't seen them anywhere near this lately. I'd imagine with the new lines now in full swing, they'll heavily discount the older models in the next few weeks. I don't know if Intel's CPU price drop will also contribute later in July.

Does anyone know how the Go 7900GS compares with the 8600M GT?

the problem is vat really does jack up the price. I found a great laptop on the outlet but once the VAT kicked in, the price went to over a thousand.
