    Hi There

I am new to this board and wish to introduce myself, although I'm not sure this is the section to do it on. My name is Gary Collins and I teach Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun Kuen here in Ireland. You can see the web-site at www.hungfayiireland.com. I hope to have plenty of good chats here on the boards, and if anyone wishes to ask me any questions on Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun, then go ahead. So, that's it for now.

    Cheerio, Gary

Hello Gary. Perhaps you can tell us a bit about the style you teach.

    Kind regards,

    Hello There

Thanks very much for the welcomes. I looked up everyone's web-sites and its cool to see the diversity here on the forum (and it's also good to see another Wing Chunner as well :) ).
About Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun, it has its roots in the Shaolin Temple and has been passed down through 8 generations since its creation. The system is considered neither hard nor soft, which was a shock to me as I had grown up thinking in terms of hard and soft. Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun instead focuses on Time/Space and Energy and using these as little as possible to maintain efficiency. It also contains Iron Palm/Shirt/Arm training that allows the body to take massive punishment without injury or distraction.
I have a question - almost every other country in the world has an annual martial arts meeting of some sorts, but we never have, as far as I know. Would anyone here be interested in trying to set up a meeting where any systems at all get a chance to highlight themselves in a friendly and impartial seminar setting? I genuinely think Ireland should showcase its own clubs here at home for a change, and it would give us all the chance to meet up. What do you think?

    Cheerio, Gary
