George Clinton, the mega-mad musician whose biggest claim to fame is his musical leasons with PRINCE is playing two nights at the Tripod soon.

I have tickets for the wednesday night and I am genuinely interested if anyone else is going and what you think of the man?

I'm headking along with 3 or 4 others.

I saw the July 2005 gig in Vicar St ws blown away. They really kick it out. The band is so big that the stage can be full and they'll still only have about half of them playing. Clinton works a crowd as well (in fact probably better) as almost any other artist I've seen. There's a lot of interaction, loads of audience chants. One of the best things is that the band clearly enjoy playing - something you can't say you see too much of these days.

I'm going on the Thursday night (5th). I'd imagine their 4th July performance will be pretty special, but I'm taking Friday off to make a monster weekend out of the whole thing and I really couldn't face a day at my desk after a night of the funk, the whole funk and nothin' but the funk.
