My sky+ functions stopped working today. giving me "system fault" error and tells me to ring a number. They said theyll send a signal to my box to hopefully fix it and if its not fixed within 4 hours to ring back.

anyone else have this error before? is it easily fixed? Ive only had it 6 days and the only thing i can think of is that the hard drive has failed

You could try a Full System Reset, this will wipe all recorded programmes and will erase all planner entries so only do it if you have watched all recordings and don't mind entering all future recordings again.

press services, then press 4-0-1 select, don't mind what it says on screen, just press the buttons as per above.
then go to Full System Reset and follow the on screen instructions.

    This may help your problem.

Sounds like a HDD failure alright. Worth trying the FSR anyway, as DigiDec said.
