Double Bills on RTÉ2 are back...

Just to let everyone know, double bills of Prison Break are back like season one from Monday 2nd July at 9PM with episodes 5&6.

Personally, it makes more sense this way. Season 2 Part One DVD is already out and if they continued with single episodes the rest of the season would be out before they even finished. I am sure the fact that Sky will be showing season 3 from August was a factor as well.

True, but if RTE had screened the new series earlier (and there was nothing stopping them from doing that) they would already have shown the episodes that are on the DVD and would be finished the new series well before season 3 starts on Sky.
They wouldn't have to show double episodes at all then. But that's RTE for ya!

Glad, I think that's why I enjoyed Prison Break so much last season. Hopefully things only get better from here!

Great news! I wonder now if they'll screen season 3 before Sky do...

That is difficult to say. Remember when Sky started showing 24, RTE began to drop the series. But they may air it as close as possible to SKY like what they do with 24. But, they will have to suffer a big fall in viewers.

Yeah iirc Prison Break season 2 was shown Monday nights in the USA, so if that stays the same for season 3 I can see Sky screening it that weekend and RTE not having it until the following Monday or Tuesday - similar enough to the screening of Lost.

The reason I guess RTE left it annoyingly long was because they wanted PB to replace Lost as the major American Drama at the 10p.m. slot on a Monday night.
