How To Drink Beer While Lying Down

    Hi All,

Great forum you have going on here, full of invaluable advice!

One thing I haven't seen discussed in any of the threads is how to drink cans of beer while lying on the sofa watching TV. I was attempting this the other day, it's not too bad once about a third of the can is gone but can be quite tricky when the can has just been opened.

Any tips for the best way to do this without sitting up or using a straw?

get a long thin tube and leave the can on the floor, or join some straws together... then suck

Four cavity blocks under the top end of the couch works for me :D

Welcome Brother nc, you have come to the right place. The solution to your dilemma is in fact quite simple. Do not attempt to drink a full can lying down while holding the can yourself. Instead tell the wimmin who brought the can to you from the fridge to hold onto it for a bit longer so that she can open it and pour the beer into your mouth in a more controlled manner, thereby eliminating spillage. When it reaches a point where you can handle the task yourself take the can from her and send her back to the fridge for another one.

a funnel would also be useful.

Zaphs suggestion is, without a doubt, worth considering.

Another option is to get a glass and only pour a small amount of the can into it, which will enable you to drink from the glass in the event that herself is not about with the funnel.

To avoid a mess, Dunnes Stores sell bibs at a giveaway price - you can then wring out the bib - waste not, want not.
