i like this , of office life in Dublin 2007 , in real open plan style --
Valentia has seen a similar one i posted to Irish flickr , but i prefer this , though the contrast ain't great , as it was taken the other side of the liffey

Needs straighten aye. Personally, I'd include the floor of the bottom floor.

It needs to be straightened up a bit more, and I think there's a slight bit of barrell distortion in there too.

Would love to see it in a landscape or even panoramic format, (so what if that involves stitching several different offices together!)

Kinda reminds me of Andreas Gursky's Paris, Montparnasse.

unfortunatly i can't bring the floor at the bottom back, i'm terrible at shooting straight , but i'll try and straighten some more ... it was shot from acroos the liffey , zooming in on office life in Dublin

I can still see distortion in it! Sorry, just with all the straight lines, it's hard not to notice!

Oh - I see earlier on I said barrell distortion, meant to said Pincushion distortion! Apologies!

ok Al, i'll show my ignorance again , can that be got rid off ?

I assumed its from the zooming/cropping , and playing about with contrast and brightness !

My ignorant understanding of ps , would think that what you gain from some effect, you loose on something else ... i'm probably talking bull

It's just a 'side effect' to using some lenses, just as barrell distortion is with using wide angled lenses. If you look at the lines, you'll see that they curve around the centre of the image.

It can be corrected in PS by going (Duplicate your layer first ;) ) to Filters/Distort/Lens Correction, and the first slider there is for your lens correction - A grid should appear over the preview of the photograph so you'll see where the straight lines are off! Just play with the slider until you think it's right really!

The only thing you'll loose is some minor resolution around the edges. :)

you must have good eyes, cause i can barely see the lines curve

i'm also using PS cs , and it doesnt have a lens option from Filters/Distort menu --

    hope your fealing betterish !

I noticed that too - if you open up notepad and drag the window paralell to the window frame you can notice the distortion. Its not excessive but its definitely noticeable.
