About me....

I think some people here may not have the best of opinion of me, and probably, unintentionally, this is through my own fault. So, I'd like to tell ya all a little about me, what makes me tick, and why I post some of the things I post.

Sometimes I post without fully thinking about how it will be viewed by some posters. I forget that most of you don't know me very well and that this can lead to my posts or intentions being misinterpreted.

My sense of humor can take some getting used to. What may seem to be a snide or cheeky remark is rarely meant in a harmful way. If I really wanted say something aggressive to someone, I'd have no problem saying it to their face, or very directly in public. So, if you see something that could be taken as a joke or a snide/cheeky insult etc, there's a 99.9% chance I'm just joking & no harm was meant. Those who have gotten to know me at HRTA/Predator skirmishes have probably noticed I'm an easy-going guy and my humour comes across a bit better (I hope).

Sometimes I also come across as being a bit blunt (ok, extremely blunt). Don't mistake this as being rude as that is not my intention...ever. I just prefer to speak my mind, and don't bother mincing my words. I would hope & wish for everyone to be blunt and to the point with me. I respect that a lot more.

I have been a moderator for 2 other forums in the past, and sometimes I put my old 'Mod' hat on by mistake. It's not intentional...it just becomes 2nd nature to remind people of rules/etiquette etc. The 2 forums I was a mod for, where both far more relaxed and laid-back than this one. Then again, they were smaller, and a lot less open to public scrutiny...another thing I sometimes forget about.

Things that are guaranteed to piss me off big time are telling me that I am stupid, that I am irresponsible or dismissing what I have to say as worthless.
--I spent most my childhood being told I was stupid by my peers, and I don't put up with that anymore. I have an above average IQ..I'm no genius, but I'm eating weetabix for breakfast so we'll see in a few months if that improves. Personally attacks on my character will seriously annoy me. Perhaps I need a thicker skin...
--I am not irresponsible. I know more about responsibility than most of you could imagine. My dad died aged 8, and my mum struggled under the pressure of raising 4 kids on her own, the youngest who whom was 3 months old and born with skin cancer. I grew up very quickly. I was working 2 jobs from age 10 (before & after school), helping raise my younger siblings and was the only person my mum could turn to for support since the relatives pretty much ignored us. So, while I sometimes post without fully thinking about the consequences of my words, that doesn't make me irresponsible, that makes me human.
--You may not always agree with what I have to say. I know I can be a bit radical & different in my approach to many things, but my points are (usually) as valid as anyone elses. There is no need to dismiss what I have to say as if it were worthless. There are nice ways to disagree, and there are not so nice ways. Be prepared for an argument if you choose the former!

I'm a stubborn and argumentative b$%^$% sometimes, but if you present a logical argument in a friendly way, I'll somewhat change my opinion usually. People who point-blank refuse to budge on issues and see their opinion as a god-given fact will generally get my most stubborn and argumentative forum replies ;)

Above all, I do honestly try my best for airsoft and the players. I'd never do anything intentionally to hurt the sport or the people that play it. I screw up sometimes, but am more than willing to put my hand up and say sorry....if it's pointed out to me a nice way.

Although the above is quite personal, and many would question me for putting it here in a public forum, I thinks it's necessary. Hopefully I won't rub too many people up the wrong way anymore (get your dirty little minds out of the gutter. You know what I mean!!!)

I'll leave this here to hopefully clear the air. But I'm going to put a lock on it. People can read it without any need to go into an all out discussion about your personality. It's a public forum and that would just be getting way too personal.

If anyone wants to say something to Crazyrabbit in regard to this thread, there is always the PM feature.
