Saw this and thought it was complete rubbish :D
Quality of service is generally good. The Dublin to Belfast (the Enterprise route) is well regarded, despite occasional problems with punctuality. These are primarily capacity related. The route is only two track and serves both local and intermediate commuter as well as intercity traffic, hence any delay has knock on effects. This is combined with limited platform availability at Connolly station in Dublin. There is also the occasional problem with engine overloading, due to the fact that Enterprise locos must also supply coach power (unlike the southern and western routes, where power is provided by separate generator vans).

The Cork - Dublin route is also quite well regarded. It was the "premier line" of the Great Southern and Western Railway, one of the biggest pre-CIE operators. Journey time and rolling stock are quite good on this route, with new Mark 4 rolling stock complete with DVTs for faster turn around now in service.

    That made me laugh :)

Probably the same dipstick that messes with the P11 entry. A very sad, lonely and emotionally unbalanced soul, with very strong connections to the a past where cailini danced at the crossroads, cows were milked by a fair maiden and you could get a train from Ballinarobe to anywhere in the west of Ireland.

So the Platform 11 committee consists entirely of cats eh?

Well, if it's on wiki it must be true.

    Meow.

    Derek

Is it possible that the suspected individual has a name that resembles the owner of a well known girlie magazine?

Not that I'd know the girlie magazine in question, but you have to admire someone who has Viagra for breakfast and a blonde girl for lunch at more then 70. By that stage I reckon I'll be putting it in with a spoon.

Wikipedia doesn't work, it's an experiment that has a broken ideology and a misplaced belief in evolution and human nature.

Some of that text is filler I added three years ago just to kick off an article about Irish Rail. The additional text added by others since hasn't really improved it.

Someone here could probably rewrite the thing properly, but really, I can no longer see the point. Mind you, it's rather worrying the amount of people who take Wikipedia's misinformation as gospel.

You might think that I couldn't possibly comment....

Ludicrous exaggeration is not uncommon on Boards, but that really takes the biscuit.

Wiki is a minefield of information, the vast majority of it is believed true by the contributers and it is open to peer review.
For casual browsing it is often sufficient just to look at the wiki, but definately not if you require reliable verivied information, then again, you can always follow the references at the end of the article.

No serious researcher would rely on one source anyway.

Wikipedia is great for research. Its a first place to look and get ideas, then refine the topics you've found on Wikipedia and looking elsewhere using the keywords.

I wouldnt quote anything from it, but its great as a first place to have a glance.

Honestly Dermo, Wiki doesn't interest me anymore. It is a failed institution.

God bless World Book. A true encylopedia.:) P11 aren't in it. The best way forward!!!!
