Engl Fireball Amp Problem

I recently experienced a significant drop in output volume through my Engl Fireball and don't know what caused the problem. The head still works (ie - there is output) but just a huge reduction in volume.

I have changed both the poweramp tubes, but this has yielded no improvement so the problem must lie elsewhere.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem with a tube amp before? Can anyone recommend a possible solution?

    Thanks.

Are the power tube monitor lights on or off?

Hi Karl - thanks for the reply.

The power tube monitor lights are off - signifying that there is no problem with the power amp tubes.

    Any other suggestions?

Hmm, the effects loop balance control, is that turned fully to dry? Assuming, that is, if you're not running anything in there.

Thanks again Karl, but no luck - FX loop is set to Dry and still f*ck all output :o(

I'm stumped - only thing I can think of is that there might be a diode blown in the circuit... If the preamp was damaged there'd be zero output right?

Preamp tubes can cause lots of problems. I wouldn't have changed the Powertubes without checking them first to be honest.
