Punch bag drills

    Hey guys,
The gym I use recently got a punching bag which is good enough news as I haven't been able to do any MA training in a while and I'm not sure when I'll be able to start up again.
Can anyone recommend and drills I could do on the punching bag before I hit the weights. I'm looking to get about 15mins on it about 3 times a week.
I have trained mostly in Karate but have done some Muay Thai and Boxing, I would prefer some M.T. type drills so I can get the kicks/knees working again.

    Thanks

    H2DC!

For a MT bag workout, google rob kaman (probably on youtube). Doing clinch work with the bag will totally knacker you. :D

Been checking out RossBoxing.com and theres a few good ones. May go for something along these lines:
    4 x 3-minute rounds – Skill emphasis
    4 x 30-second punch-out drills
    Finish with 1 x 3-minute round

Any idea as to what I should be doing for the first 4 rounds?
    Thinking about:
    Round 1: jab cross.
    2: Jab cross hook
3: Jab cross hook right rhouse / jab cross left rhouse.
4: Jab cross right / left knee

    Any input?

    Any input?

Looks decent as a starting point. I'd try holding the bag and doing knees from the side too at some point. Very tiring.

I'm gonna be trying out my own MT bag routine tomorrow. Haven't decided on it yet. Without something concrete, I tend to flaff around a bit.

Sure let us know how you get on / anything you changed.

edit: What break are you taking between rounds?

After all that the bag was locked away in the gym and looks to be locked away tomorrow as well

I'm gonna go for 1 min between rounds but I dont know if I'll stick to it in the latter rounds as its been a while since I've been doin any drills so I'll prob be fooked after 2 rounds :D

I'll actually try that kneeing the bag from the side, I usually do it from the 1, 2 combe and knee or skip and knee...

    Cheers for the input Khannie!
