Austin Hill Motors - beside Blackrock DART station

Anyone used Austin Hill motors, beside Blackrock DART station?

Am dropping the SL in here on Monday to have some boltholes* in the boot lid filled, and most of the rear end resprayed. As the paint is metallic, and might prove difficult to match, I wondering if anyone has had any good/bad experience here?

Their stock in trade seems to be minor bodywork repairs, but to cars with regular colour codes rather then an 1989 resprays with a random volkswagon blue...

    * damn one PO and their hideous spoiler

was on the dart from Blackrock for a few weeks whilst sorting the mini for the summer. I was pretty impressed with what I was seeing there.... its all about the paint match though....

who puts a spoiler on an SL ??

MB put rubber ones on the later w107,but did you know there are two different springs used, heard of people removing the spoiler then unexpectedly getting hit in the face by the bootlid:D

Hi guys (was away a few days)

Dropped it in the this morning, so we'll see how we get on. Have given the chap all the details I could find in the history about the paint, so hopefully he can make a match.

And it wasn't just a spoiler - it was a wing.

Those of a weak disposition don't click here.

Got the SL back today minus boltholes. The guy went to a bunch of trouble to get the paint right, having not been able to track down the exact respray paint from '89.

Am over the moon with the results.

Both rear wings resprayed too, as the spoiler from hell had rubbed paint off the top section.

Just an FYI in case anyone is looking for minor bodywork + repray done. :)

According to the maintenance file the colour is Aero Blue #2, a VW paint. As it was tough to verify I think the respray used a dash of this and a dash of that, though... ;)

    Osh,

They filled in 6 boltholes, resprayed the boot, as well as the two rear wings as there was paint damage on both from the spoiler.

    Cost was just over €500.
Not sure how that stands up but dammit I'm happy with it. :)
