Download Counter

I've got a bit of an unusual problem, and I wasn't sure whether or not to post on this board or the but after seeing this especially useful one on essential free software I figured this was probably the place.

I was wondering if such a thing exists as a download counter, a piece of software (or hardware even) the tracks how many Mbs are downloaded & uploaded by a broadband router per month?

I ask because I'm using an Eircom broadband connection with a 10GB download / 1 GB upload limit and I'd like to know how much I'm using. I amn't a hardcore gamer or YouTube Addict or anything, I'm just curious.

Plus if I'm only using a 2 or 3 GB a month then I'd like to know so I could go a bit madder without worrying. As it stands now I leave my Nabaztag asleep most of the time because I've no clue how much bandwidth I'm using.

I've had a good look around my browser (A Netopia 3347NWG, again from eircom) and couldn't find any way of enabling any sort of counter on it, and I've tried using google to find something but to no avail (probably because I don't really know what I'm looking for is called).

For it to be useful to me it'd need to be able to:
    • Keep track of downloads over both the LAN & WLAN through the router (If two different bits of kit would be needed to keep separate counts then I'd be happy too, I don't mind adding them up :) )
    • Also keep tabs on xBox Live (My brother has a xBox360)
    • Work with Windows XP, and keep a tack of downloads from across multiple user profiles.
    • Preferably with an option to reset the total every month, but this wouldn't be too big a deal.

It doesn't have to be free, I'd be happy to pay for this sort of thing since it may well save me money, but ideally I'd to not have to buy a whole new computer to run the software on.

I'd really appreciate any advice; I imagine I amn't the only one with a problem like this, and I've had no success so far. :(
