Contact Cleaner Question

I borrowed some contact cleaner to try & sort out the temperamental joystick on my phone.

After spraying it around the joystick I noticed the contact cleaner was staying on the phone.
I had thought contact cleaner evaporates, preventing it from damaging the phone when it is powered up.

That was 5 hours ago and the contact cleaner is still there.

Will my phone be a write off if I try to turn it on now?

    cheers

Yeah it should evaporate - did you shake the can before using it? Try wiping it off anyway.

    Shook the can well.

I can't get to all of it so I'll just have to live in the hope it won't cause any long term damage to the phone.

The phone works now anyway, aside from the screen, which I managed to get some contact cleaner on.
