Wireless advice please

Hi. Well first off, I'm pretty useless when it comes to these things so please excuse my ignorance. I'd like some advice on setting up a wireless network. We have broadband and a pretty standard (wired) router which provides 4 ports. These are distributed to various rooms in the house (all 4 are used). My room is in the basement and I have many appliances that require the internet (laptop, wii, ps3, etc). Since I only have one LAN cable running to my room, I can only have one of these connected at a time. I was wondering if it would be possible to convert that wired connection to a wireless connection to span the room, so that they can all connect to the net at once?

    Thanks.

Have you considered buying a wired network switch? If its convenient to have them all wired to the same point, I'd do that. Should be able to get one for around €40 I'd imagine. Otherwise, any of the wireless routers you can get in places like PC World, Elara, Komplett, etc (or maybe even Argos?) should do the trick.

Thanks for the reply Dilbert. I hadnt really considered the wired network switch , though really I'd like to keep the amount of wires to a minimum. I'd like the wi-fi also so I could sync my laptop to my ps3.
So a standard wireless router would do the trick? I'd like to stress that I'm not talking about changing the router for the whole house, just in my room via an ethernet cable. I thought most routers only had an ASDL port as a means of input, no?

Ok then - how about something like this - if I'm correct, it'll have a lan socket in the back - plug in your cable, set it up and off you go (ish).
