    Very nice :). I can't wait!

    What's the speed like?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 5,154 ✭✭✭Oriel

Not quite as fast as 10.4 from what I remember from the short time using it. But that's to be expected really. I'll get more time to mess tomorrow.
I need reminding of what the new features are! For example, I haven't played with the stacks yet.

The most noticeable thing is that Finder looks more like iTunes. Well, can look more like iTunes if you want it to.

Looking forward to the feedback on that. How about Spaces?

'Quick Look' def looks better than I imagined it would!

Yup! I was mad using it for the first week or so. The novelty has worn off now and the hassle of booting into it keeps me in 10.4 but Im looking forward to a more stable release.

    stacks looks soooo handy

I've been using a dev build for a couple of months now - it's nothing to get too excited about.
A few nice graphics, for the average user - nothing worth upgrading to.
I see people on websites saying "should I buy a Mac now or wait until Leopard." Simple. Buy now.
For the average user, and I stress "average", it's the same experience.

/edit - Coverflow is nice in theory, but not great for finding things, which is what finder is all about.
TimeMachine is the best feature about Leopard - which requires huge HD space, which Apple are more than happy to charge big money for...

How are you finding it for development?

Run into any serious problems at all?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,424 ✭✭✭440Hz

xRay is very handy for testing/debugging. Not many changes to xCode so far, that is due to be overhauled soon enough though. Overall, not many changes on the dev front, aside from a few new tools, but xRay is probably the handiest addition.

I'm in the North. Unfortunately, due to keyboard setup etc, I have to choose UK settings.
