Hi! I'm preparing my report on Irish schools. That's why I have to questions: Do some pupils leave school after the Junior Certificate? Do they have a chance to get an apprenticeship? and secondly, I've heard that parents often have problems getting a place at the local school for their children. Is this only the case with primary schools or also with secondary schools? Thank you for helping me!!!

well, some students will leave school after the junior but most wont, they know theres very little chance of even a decent job.

there are limited aprenticeships now that the building boom is cooling, you need the jc for one but once again most would prefer if you had the leaving cert,

yeh, it can be to get into your choice school, but if you apply early, you will be grand, and you will always get into a school, just might not be the one with all your friends and it might not be the best in the area. every school has a different admissions policy tbh, some dont take applications till the child goes into 6th class while some have no limits and some require the parent to que up outside the school for hours to get the childs place
