    Hi folks.

I have a .avi file that i'd like to be able to play on my dvd player.

was wondering what format i could convert it to to play.

According to the manual, the dvd player plays:

    VCD's
    SVCD
    Mp3 (MPEG-1 and MPEG-2)

    Was thinking VCD but:

what file extension does such a file have and

are there any free converters for any of the above on the internet?

    any help would be great,

    thanks

    k.

vcd's/svcd's aren't great quality. you can use Nero etc to burn the file to dvd and it will convert it to the proper file type (.vob)

thanks for that moe, but i don't have a dvd burner.

was hoping to put something on cd that would play in the dvd player.

    is there anything else?
