Some websites specify the full URL in their links e.g. http://www.site.com/path/to/file and others use absolute links ( /path/to/file ) or even relative links ( ../path/to/file ).

While the absolute or relative ones reduce the size of the html and won't have to be updated if the site moves to a new url, are there any differences from a browser/networking point of view to each form?
