I shoulda listened to the trainer last day at the curragh & I'll swallow what he says again today.... One bet today & it'll be 'Cockney Rebel' to win! :D

i have no selections but i just want to say this is the first day since punchestown ended that i have actually been excited about a race. im really looking forward to seeing George Washington stepping back on to the racecourse again. i hope he retains all his ability and gives us something to look forward to for the rest of the season. ie stuffing the yanks at the breeders cup mile.

    that is all.

    Race 1

I think Mount Pleasure represents solid each way value in the first at Ascot, considering how it performed when up against Declaration of War last time out. It's currently 20s in some places, and 25s in others it certainly represents better value than Declaration of War who is the 5/1 second favourite.

    Race 2

Takeover Target has every chance of winning the second race again this year. I can't see it being out of the placings, although this is Ascot!

    Race 3

Cockney Rebel is a worthy favourite if the form with Eagle Mountain is anything to go by.

    Race 4

Red Evie had a great start to the season by winning narrowly last time out and gets the nod here to upset George Washington.

    Race 5

Mceldowney represents a good each way bet at 20/1. If it can finish like it did last time out there's no reason it shouldn't be in the frame, although it is over a year since it had it's last win.

    Race 6

If this race is run to suit then Dark Angel has every chance of taking this, mind you I don't like seeing hold up tactics in a 5f race - but that's a whole other story! It seems to be on the improvement and should be able to keep with the pace here - will hopefully be put into the frame sooner than it was last time out.

I won't be backing a horse in every race but i fancy..

Mount Pleasure each way (€10) and Declaration of War to win (€30)

    Cockney Rebel, €50 win.

and Hatta Fort in the last. €20 win.

I'll just head to the bookies at lunch time and stick mine on :)
