Yeah last year there was some page that had the results up before they went on the portal pages. Anyone know it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,592 ✭✭✭✭Dont be at yourself

There's a button on the portal page for 'For Your Results' now, but it seems to be borked.

Question, I'm doing multimedia I failed one module last semester and two this semester but did pretty well in all the others. My overall is coming up as a fail despite them telling us the average mattered not individual numbers.
Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? Should I email the individual lecturers or what? Do I need to do all the assignments for each class?
Any advice would be really appreciated.

Anyone know where the pass lists are? I have hazy memories of looking at one online last year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,204 ✭✭✭Kenny_D

Anybody remember the %'s for the different degree grades?

Or more importantly is 63.5 equal to a 2.1?

varies depending on the course but its either 60 or 63..... one or the other so your 2.1 is safe ;)

By the skin of your teeth!

    First Class Honours 70% +
    Second Class Honours Grade 1 63% - 69%
    Second Class Honours Grade 2 55% - 62%
    Pass 40% - 54%

But doesnt it give that at the bottom of your results?

    Thanks folks,

Mine doesn't say the grade because I have 1 exam deferred, I just needed to know I wasn't gonna have to make up a huge gap in the deferred exam.

Did you get that marking scheme on the DCU site by the way? I can never find it EDIT: Found it anyway

3.75% away from a 1.1, still happy with a 2.1, here comes fourth year oh yeah

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

Failed every exam in semester 2, lol

In for a first, get it into ya Cynthia! It was close but the swing subjects came through.

Eh out of curiosity does it matter if you have a negative balance on your printing account after final year?? I've heard stories...

Delighted. First class honours here. It is the average of the results then?

I'm the same, but it's also only 3.25% above a 2.2 (if 63 is the cut-off in your course) so we are actually closer to that!

EDIT: My course is only 3 years so that was my final result

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 310 ✭✭public_enemy

3 fails, sweet. Bring on the repeats.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,835 ✭✭✭StickyMcGinty

Can't remember the marks, but in science anyway there's 3rd class honours (3.0), I'd think it would eat into some of that 2.2 range

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,191 ✭✭✭The_Hustler

Third Class Honours is 50-54% if it's applicable to the course.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,172 ✭✭✭Don1

62% Feck. Have to do a kick ass project to get that extra percent and there's SFA chance of that happening. Damn semester one results. >:(
