Hypothetically if a person had exams for a professional body (accounting, legal, medical etc.) on the day of a court appearance for speeding how could they get the date moved?

Also if they never received a fixed penalty notice how ca they commuicate that to the judge?

    **********Not legal advice.**********

Consult a solicitor and have same solicitor attend the court. The case will be adjourned until you are available to attend.

They could make arrangements with the prosecuting memeber or arrange for someone to appear on their behalf e.g. solicitor. Documentary evidence illustrating the date of the exam might be beneficial, especially if given well in advance. But that said, a court appearance is not like paying your esb bill on time - if a person doesn't show up it could have negative consequences.

"Yer honour, I didn't get the notice in the door, ya know what I mean?"

as Johnnysekelton said get someone to appear on your behalf or talk to the prosecuting Garda and get it adjourned so you can tell the Judge that you didn't get the fixed charge notice.

Depending on where your in court, the judge might listen to your story :D
