    Hi folks,

if you are Mac-enabled, and have Aperture, what do you think of it?

tried it... didnt think much of it. went back to lightroom. I'll have to give it a second go at some stage in the near future, given that it's pretty much the reason I bought a mac in the first place

Used the beta version for a while, liked it a lot. It had a lot of bugs though and there were rumours after the beta release that Apple might pull it altogether. It has taken off since and apparently the latest release is very solid. If and when I get my hands on it I'll probably use it more than Lightroom.

    Def worth a play though!

i bought a mac to use as my 'photo' computer as it has become my primary computer now. my vaio lies in a carry bag gathering dust.

i purchased aperture at the same time and i now never use anything else (i tried the beta lightroom on pc and really didnt like it), even though i have ps.

it does everything and does it well.

i really want one of the 30" mac displays now...

    highly recommended

You in Dublin feileacan? I really wouldn't mind having a look see at it. I basically want to know it will do a lot of the post processing stuff that I currently take for granted on the front of black and white conversions for example, what tools it has. I don't find the Apple website hugely informative to be honest.

Yeah baby, now that's gear porn! I see one of those (or the slightly smaller version) in my near to mid future

Calina - i work in Holles St, not a problem to bring the mac if you want to have a look at aperture.

Rymus - its the crystal meth of gear. but at E1799 - its not so cheap. but i guess thats what bank loans are for...

well... extract the VAT and it takes a little bit of the sting out of it. Still is alot of cash though... I wonder if I could get an LCD TV that'd do the same job.. Or maybe buy the 30" cinema display and use that as a TV :D
