Analog TV is a modulation system used on VHF, UHF, Cable, MMDS and Satellite.

Analog is a North American/USA spelling. Everywhere else the official spelling is Analogue.

MMDS = Microwave Multipoint Distribution System (2GHz to 12Ghz), typically 2.5GHz (Ireland) or 3.5GHz. Hypercable is a variety of MMDS at 11.7GHz.

MMDS can carry Analogue AM TV (like VHF/UHF TV ), FM TV (Like Analogue Satellite) or Digital (Using Cable, Terrestrial or Satellite type of Digital TV).

MMDS in Ireland carries AM Analogue TV identical to VHF/UHF analogue TV (though mostly scrambled), and also Digital.

NTL areas are Digital MMDS only using Cable type DVB-c
Chorus areas use Analogue and Digital Terrestrial type DVB-t

The Analogue channels will be closed shortly as the loss of those 11 or 12 channels will allow 66 extra Digital channels approximately.

So The "difference between analog tv and MMDS" is like the difference between AM Radio and Radio Wave Bands (LW, MW, SW and Air bands all use AM radio).
