I used to live in the ifsc and you would always see young wans in their pj's and slippers in the spar shop at anytime of the day. I presume they lived around the corner.

Now I know there are other fair important things going on in the world but this particular issue really annoys me. I personally cant stand this look.. It just screams 'I dont give a crap about society' to me..

I see it nearly every day when I am at home (after work or at weekends) Gangs of girls in PJs walking by the house on the way to the shop/offie/post office, can of beer in one hand, cigerette in the other and usually shouting 'Jacintaaaa will ya bl***din wait for me ya c*nt'..

Being forced to reat a thread? That sounds like it could be painful.

I have seen a few foreign women doing it now, so you see 'trailer park' is contagious, actually judging by the way Ireland is going, I think the disease is airborne.

(I am mainly adding to this thread to keep it going, and annoy all the anal twats who are moaning about this being covered before.)

I saw one going arse over tit in gardiner street the other day,she was rollerblading in her pajamas when she went on her snot. The entire street stopped to point and laugh and this did not please the young lady at all.I feckin wish i'd recorded it.

I once went to pick up a young lady for a first date, when she answered the door she was wearing a strange pair of trousers. "Are they PJs?" I enquired incredulously. "No," she answered, "they're mine!"*

*Turns out her dad's name was PJ. meh. It was funny at the time.

"Chuuuuuuuuuuuuuuungfla! Je like me peejamas? Der only bleedin' deadly!"

"Not as nice as your wizened, red face and large golden hoop earrings."

Honestly. Dublin society makes me laugh. One Celtic Tiger later and there are still hundreds of thousands of neanderthal barbarians walking around our streets, abusing the English language and wearing PJ's in public.

Because the country is doing well the fcukin budget keeps awarding these lowlives more in social welfare so they dont have to work and dont bother to get dressed.

are we talking proper bonafide PJ's here, or just those cheesy velour tracksuit thingys, you see various young hollywood starlets parading about in.

    *cough*

I thought this was a bit of an Urban Myth until about two weeks ago. Now whenever I am on my way home I will usually see at least one person shopping in Centra wearing PJs and slippers. Its very very strange.

    Yeah, these riff-raff are everywhere.

Its quite simple to explain, by wearing pyjamas to go to the shops at 3 in the afternoon they are giving the fingers to anyone who

    a) has to work for a living
    b) doesn't get free housing and benefits to spend on booze and fags

It was brought into the media glare recently by a headmaster in belfast who wrote to all the (presumably single) mothers to ask them not to wear pyjamas bringing their kids to school as it set the kids a bad example and was 'slovenly'. "Good for him" I say. "Don't be abusin' our rights" say the unwashed benefit-scamming masses.

This was on the news a few wks ago (slow news day clearly) and there was talk of banning pj-wearing ladeez (using term loosely) from public places..........

i think it makes the world a bit more interesting!!!

skangers wear pj's cuz they are so used to hopping in and out of bed with anything they see that they could be bothered changing. it gives that "I'm out on the town but always ready for bed look"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,005 ✭✭✭✭Flukey

Maybe they all work for a pyjama testing or designer company! They just use the streets instead of a catwalk, therefore getting more people to notice them. There is probably someone hiding, watching people's reactions to different styles and noting them all. A bit of market research. It gets regular threads in here, so it obviously works. :)

Happened up in Galway too, people used to walk around the student village and to the shops in PJs. I say it's the way foreward. Comfy, and always ready for bed.

They always look like they're ready for bed regardless... it just depends on whether they're hanging around outside Spar in the IFSC in their PJ's on a Wednesday morning, or wearing thigh-highs on Leeson Street Bridge on a Saturday night.
