Channel 4 & Discovery (analog) missing after NTL upgrade

I have friends in Dublin 12 where NTL are replacing all the core cabling. Since being connected to the new cable, analog reception is excellent however at least two channels are missing - Channel 4 & Discovery.

Any obvious cause for this? They are not on alternate frequencies.

Dealing with customer services just yields the same answers "we'll send an engineer to your home".

They've moved fequency .. do a rescan. Quality on those two channels should be better too.

Channel 4 should be on 543MHz and Discovery on 575MHz. They used to be on 56 and 48MHz respectively.

I did a full scan, but the channels never showed up (and the TV is only a few years old). I'll manually enter those frequencies to see what comes up.

As it happens the old frequencies came back on today at lunchtime where I live in D12 after 12 days off

After talking to someone at NTL the other day I got the impression that they turned off the old frequency even though the whole area wasn't yet capable of receiving the new frequencies (because the cables etc hadn't been replaced )
