RC car fanatic

im kind of new to airsoft.not so much shooting guns but the whole skirmishing thing.i was wondering what you do there and is there anywhere you can shoot targets besides out the backyard.and what gear you need?

you have a lot of reading to do...on this board and elsewhere. i would start on this board and familiarise yourself, you could start with the images and retailers stickies before moving on to the hrta one

The only skirmish site in the republic of ireland at the moment is hrta in swords, what age are you btw? i think in another thread you mentioned you were 13/14?? i cant remember what the minimum age is for hrta, but i think it's 14...

Skirmishes are a great laugh, a usual day in hrta is roughly:
10.30 - 11.30 Everyone is supposed to arrive at 10.30, but most of the time the bulk of people dont arrive until nearly 11, then everyone will stand around admiring eachother's guns and if anyone has something new it will get fondled and such...
11.30 - First game of the day, everyone splits into two teams and we decide what game to play,
2.00ish We normally stop for lunch for a while, although lately lunch seems to take less time
2.30/3.00 more games!
5.30ish... Most people would be happy enough to continue playing all night, but we normally finish up around 5.30...

Different game scenario's consist of different rules, but most games can be basically broken down to "shoot the other team, dont get shot"...


Oh and about target shooting elsewhere, at the moment there isn't anywhere to do so, but hopefully we will have some practical shooting setup soon.

You dont need any gear at all to play, you can rent an aeg at hrta, so the minimum you need is just yourself.
If you have your own aeg, that's grand, bring it along and save yourself the rental fees.
Over time you can build up a collection of kit if you want to, such as camo, tac vest, holsters, extra mags, your own mask/goggles etc...

and for target shooting elsewhere, there isnt really anywhere at the moment, but hopefully we will have some practical shooting somewhere soon

thanks man nd i do have 1 or 2 aegs.btw are gas guns allowd?

yea, gas is fine, presuming it's normal green gas or propane and fires 6mm plastic bbs, most co2 powered airsoft guns are very powerful and fire over 1 joule though...

Ah no, I didnt meant maxforce was slightly deviating from the topic, I meant I was slightly deviating from the topic in asking maxforce if he still hadnt been to a game.

Naw knew what you ment. No have not yet skirmished. Everytime I go to arrange it somthing comes up in work. The last time tcob went to HRTA I was suppoused to gp with him but it wasnt to be. But will get there sooner rather then latter:D
