Stupid windows Vista.. I highlighted 3 files in the "downloads" folder and hit delete.
I didn't take any notice that the confirmation dialog was "Delete folder downloads" yes/no and i just hit enter.
The folder was so big that it bypassed recycle bin.

How can I get them back?
Files include some important college files.
    HELP!

it's hardly stupid windows fault, it did warn you...

anyways http://www.recovermyfiles.com/ download that program and see if your files are still there.

    and ohh one final thing.

make a BACKUP. then make a BACKUP of that BACKUP.

and also.. dont download anything new or create any new files... that would drastically reduce the chances of recovering the stuff

Damn that sucks, reminds me of the time I wiped my partitions from windows disk management, 3 partitions ffs! I didn't even get a confirmation :(

I hope you recover your files.

Thanks a lot everyone... Recova did the job nicely, got most important files back.. really fast too..
Sorry to hear that Cyberghost.. such a bad feeling.
BTW this nearly happened me the other day too... I selected some files to delete, hit delete and the confirmation box was to delete the whole folder, but that time I copped it and hit cancel. Vista problem? maybe.
