If the guitar doesn't come with a case, I doubt thomann will be willing to remove it from its packing and put it in the case for you before shipping. (GuitarBargains are offering this service, according to some blurb on their site.)

Thomann get a bit of flak here. Their prices are great, but their customer service isn't great. It's not a problem when everything is going swimmingly, which in fairness is probably 99% of transactions. If the guitar does get damaged in transit, they'll replace it, but it could be a lot of hassle to get sorted.

Guitars get shipped in cardboard boxes all the time. It's not a great way of doing things, I don't like it personally, but it's an established practice, and most of the time they should be grand.

Yeah Thomann are fantastic til you have to return something and deal with their customer service.
Saying that I've bought 2 basses and a classical guitar from them and I've never had a single item arrived damaged in anyway.

i buy stuff from thomann all the time. if you buy a guitar and a hard case they'll put it in the case. well they did with mine anyway. it would get here grand anyway, they put plenty of bubble wrap and all in the boxes.

Ordered an acoustic with a hardcase, and a tele with a hardcase. I've always got them in two seperate packages despite my request... I think theyre reluctant to do this in the case of cancelled orders, they always sell un-factory sealed items as Bstock

Also English might not be everyone's first language, so I'd imagine txt spk would confuse the hell out of them.

OP Glad you're happy with the guitar, enjoy it man!

There's a simple rule - if you can't be bothered to write your post properly, don't expect people to bother decyphering it. Also, a lot of non native English speakers wouldn't be able to understand.

    Anyway, we'll be expecting pictures.

    off topic but just curious...

if txtspk is banned, surely the likes of "tbh" and "imho" should be too? It takes me a while to work those out, especially the ones i have never seen before.

There is quite a difference, being that lol, tbh and other forum abbreviations are usually tacked on to the end of a post after the point has been made using clear and plain English, whereas when txt speak is used the entire sentence requires a the assistance of a semi-literate 8 year old to decode.

    For example:

Thanks guys, Thomann's service was excellent, it's a good site tbh

thx m8 thmn ruls gud site

    :)

Tbh, lol, imho, etc are abbreviations and are fairly easy to understand, especially if you google them.

Doc J's example is not so googlable.

Anyway back on topic for a second :P

I've ordered stuff from Thomann before, good service, had a problem with an instrument one i received a massive sealed box with nothing inside it.

Had to email them and had my stuff sent a few days after, was fine.

If people aren't bothered to write out words in full (i.e not abbreviations) than why should we be bothered to decypher them? :p

It doesn't bother me because I seem to just have about figured out all of them (except AFAIK...?) but for people who are new to internet forums it is annoying.

Tbh, (:p ) I find txt speak easier to understand than the internet forum abbreviations, and I don't see how people can't understand it - unless the WHOLE sentance is in txt speak.

Anyway, on topic to the OP: Glad to see that your order went through alright with Thomann :)
