Dithering Anyone?

    If i record at 24bit for a project should i dither when mixing down to 16bit to play on a cd? Or would i just be a "Dithering old fool?!?!?!" eh? EH?

    If you want it to play on a standard CD format it has to be at 16 bit 44.1. Now go get your coat.

    yes but what im saying is if i record in 24bit and export to 16bit should i dither?

    yes you have to dither down to 16bit if you've recorded in 24bit but want to export to 16bit

    yes, definitely.

    I have uv22hr (comes with cubase) permenantly on my stereo mix bus on all my project presets. That way I can never forget.
