A good webcam!?

Hey,

Baiscally I need a webcam for recording videos and posting them up on youtube also will use it as a normal webcam for over msn!

More so the recording though, heres the problem I know feck all about them

The only way I could tell would be by looking at the price! The logitech sphere one looks good and I dont mind spending €100 on it! I just dont know if it will record videos anygood? Im presuming it will!?

Anyone any recommendations? Or if anyone already uses one and posts up on youtube send me a link to your profile and I can check them out!

Main use will be recording my monitor playing games and doing small reviews on pc stuff...

This is one of the best out there, but rather expensive.

Also, if you plan on recording your monitor i would recommend you use a program like fraps to capture the recording. As the quality will be far superior !

Nah I cant use fraps.. Kinda doing game reviews and I want to show how many fps my pc will get with it.. Kinda let people know what performance there going get with same kinda pc as me... Cause as you know everyone whos building now all have the same kinda pc roughly..

Im making a foundation if thats the right way of putting it for people buying new parts!

I plan on having fraps running showing how many fps im getting! On the other hand when im going to be making proper gaming movies then ill use fraps!

if you get the client to show fps fraps will record it. You can ten compress the file. It will also be better quality then using a webcam.

Im confused lol

When I run fraps my fps comes up in the corner.. when I press F9 to record my fps drops..

I want to show what fps my computer can get, thats why im using the webcam!

Right, in all games you can use the console to show the fps. ut2004 for example is Show_fps. In CSS you can use Netgraph_1. Then when using fraps it will show the fps as recorded by the client. All you have to do if you dont know the command and the cvar to set the client to show fps is to use google.

Ah right I get you now about the client! Are you saying I should use that instead of fraps?

Thats what I mean when I was deciding what to get for my rig.. I would look at reviews and stuff how many fps you get in such and such so its handy to know someone whos actually got the parts and they can tell you!
