    hey kids,
firstly, wheres a good place to buy blu ray discs in dublin? all the places i've looked have been rediculously pricey. Also, are there any good online shops for our region (2)?

secondly, i bought the "planet earth" series over the net. i'm still 50 50 as to whether or not its region 2 but the site showed it in the results for "ps3 uk blu ray". the question being.... is there any way i can play a region 1 disc on my region 2 ps3?

    cheers
    N

I usually get mine off Play.com or Amazon, but Xtravision are starting to get their act together and have an ok selection priced between 20 and 30 euros.
Got Apocalypto for 30. Excelent film and a high quality Blu Ray to boot. I recommend it.

i picked up open season , monster house , into the blue , click and tears of the sun from gamestop for €17.99 and €21.99 prices.

i got hellboy for €9.99  a few weeks ago in hmv they had swordfish for €9.99 also but that did not last to long.

when i get a bit of time in town i like to have a look in the two gamestops and hmv for blu-ray prices and if i see a good price on a film i'd watch then i'll pick the film up.

    Lads,
don't forget that an amount of US discs are region-free, so use the following site to check up if you're importing..
    http://bluray.lindsite.dk/

As time goes on, the majority of "catalogue" releases will be coded to all regions (although long-time holdouts, Fox, value region-coding more than Warner, Sony Pictures etc..)
Best just be careful around new day-and-date releases, but some like the RegionA Apocalypto release from last month are region-free (and well worth the purchase, either RegionA or B I might add)..

I've picked up a few on ebay.com - most recently Terminator 2 & The Fifth Element, second hand €28 for the two incl delivery from the USA.

Stay well away from HMV (the odd sale aside) they are absolute robbers. I was in Swords last week and was disgusted with the prices - what you get in HMV for €44.99 you can get in Gamestop for €21.99!!!
