Teaching jobs

    Hi All,

I'm new to this forum, so I don't really know if this is the right place for this or not...

I'm a High School teacher, mainly History and humanities subjects. I'm Australian and currently work in a Sydney school and I've been teaching for 9 years. I'm thinking of doing a year or so of teaching overseas. I was in Ireland earlier in the year and really enjoyed it and was thinking it might be a good place to teach.

Can someone tell me where to find out about teaching jobs and the sort of salaries teachers in Ireland can expect to be paid?

    Thanks!

You are better off doing an exchange programme as teaching jobs are very thin on the ground at the moment - it's especially difficult if you are applying from abroad. I know NSW offer an International exhange programme. Check with your education board.

On the other hand, the UK is short on teachers just now and offers incentives to teachers moving over from Oz and NZ.
