i recently checked the 'pfirewall.log' file which is supposed to be stored in C:\windows on my XP home edition machine and the file is not there. i have been using dial-up internet for 2 years now so what does this mean? Is XPs firewall crap or is it that it has never been tested by whatever firewalls look out for....my firewall is activated according to the settings

also i'm moving to 3G mobile BB and was wondering if the XP will automatically provide firewall protection when i'm using this or would i have to go in and specifically enable it?

If you are getting broadband then probably something more than Windows firewall is best. Zone Alarm has a free version, Comodo has one also and there are other free versions available.
