not a huge decision but just wondering what your line would be here.

Villan is a good player stats say 14/11/391 but he has 3 bet a few times against other players and always had QQ KK AA AK on showdown. he 3 bet me once or twice and folded to a 4 bet once.

    EDIT
thinking about this hand I prob should have rr the flop... I think that his 3 bet check the flop was monster..
What am i beating on the river?? not a lot.. AQ JJ and I don't think he's playing them like this..

I think pretty much all of his most likely hands are ahead of you here. About the only thing I can think of that you're beating is AQ and I don't see him 3-betting with that preflop.

Your right there is no hands you beat here at all. Its definatley a fold but not easy to do. With the stats you give there is no way he has AQ or JJ. Most likely QQ or AK.

also what about my flat call preflop.... is that bad??

Its a tough one, if your 3betting range is correct then you dont beat alot maybe AQ and thats not in that range, you behind to AK,KK,QQ and splitting with AA. He could well do this with JJ aswell but probably not with TT. Your check on the flop could have induced some value bets with AQ or JJ but its a fold for me even though your getting 3/1 i dont think your ahead enough and your splitting the pot at best IF your confident on his range. If you think hes 3betting light its an easy call but not a RR.

I dont mind flat calling with position because hes the aggressor and hes going to fire a barrell on any flop but hes range is so tight here that 4 betting is OK here hes not likely to fold KK-QQ or Ak to a 4 bet

I think its fine, but you need to bet the flop and see where you stand. And raise on the turn and see how strong he is.

If he's as much of a rock as you say, its a clear fold on the river I think.

I like the flop check and turn call, hes only ahead of Ak here and behind KK,QQ which are 3 of hes most likely holdings here so keeping the pot small is good here, normally id be trying to get all in against most opponents on this board with AA but hes range is so tight that i think keeping the pot small is good here, i think he played this perfect if he folded.

    Thanks Bryan appreciate your input

I'm not happy about this line of thinking. If I bet that flop I may be prepared to play a big pot. And to play a big pot i need a big hand. on that flop my hand is far from big so pot control at this stage is more important to me..

if i take the above line my stack is in the middle and with my now weakened holding it's not what i want. I want to get to a cheap showdown. I think my call on the turn was even questionable....

I think you played it fine. Easy fold on the river.

True, its a horrible flop for AA against that player, I just felt you need to bet the flop to see where you stood. If you're called/raised, then shut down of course.
