I've just been typing a PM to another member, but I think this needs to be said to all, and a bit more.

Starting half way through the PM...

I admit, my fault on boards is that I talk to people like there are sitting beside me - and on the photography forum, this comes across moreso.
I've called Ryan "gay" and "ya bollocks", in the past, which he clearly took in jest.
I guess other people take it more personally, which is not a fault of theirs, more my fault for being so forthrite.

Pinch of salt, and all that. Now that other people have become annoyed at me, Ryan is taking it more seriously. I understand this.

I mean no harm to anybody here. If I am antagonised on here, 90% of the time I say nothing. Just sometimes - for example (in this example) when somebody says luck is the sign of a "great" photographer - I have to disagree. And quite frankly, saying "Bollocks" says a lot more than a few paragraphs as to why that statement is inaccurate. This is equated moreso in my mind with the fact that I have little time to post large replies during the daytime. During the evening times I have a lot of things to do, and I'm rarely on here for extended periods of time.

In real life, I'm not a c**t. Several people on here, on boardse can testify that I'm not.
I hope to get down to a Boardsie photo gathering sometime soon, and you'll see for yourself.
If anything, you should all be slating my photos, and slating me moreso for not posting new ones.

My I openly apologise to Elven to whom, I guess, some of my posts have been overly critical.
Elven, in future, Ryan-permitting, just tell me to f**k off, it's much more fun!

    :)

    Stephen.

And only 42 minutes into Friday Stephen, must be a record. :D (I love Fridays)

Come to one of the meet ups, it's probably the best way to find out what peoples senses of humour are - The interweb dosn't put accross humour very well. And don't worry, we won't try to do anything nasty like rob your gear. You use a Nikon, remember?

Do I get a PM too though?

sinecurea. I had it for years, and I felt like a change. Nothing to do with here. Just boardse in general.

No, you need a public argument to get a PM. I only do regression.

    I'm available for weddings. ;)

**** off you unadulterated piece of ****. Do you really think that snivelling apology is going to wash around here. FFS!!!!

Now I wonder did that come across with just the right sarcastic tone?

Fair play Stephen. Conflict is good once it is resolved. :)

Oriel, I understand your point about saying "bollox", as you feel it says a lot, but most of us don't appreciate such responses, especially when you don't back them up with anything which validates your opinion.

I have no problem with people criticising me, but there are people on here, who go out of their way to study my pictures and give me advice. Those are the people who have my respect. Those are the people who make me enthusiastic about photography and inspire me to keep going.

It's unlikely that baseless, crass comments will ever inspire me!

    Well...

It's certainly decent of you to put your hands up and admit how much of a w**ker you've been

Certainly, things come across sometimes a lot more harshly in text than they do when you're speaking to someone - but most people realise this at a pretty early stage and judge what they write in those terms to try not to offend people online. If you're willing to put your money where your mouth is, and pay a bit of attention to that, maybe you won't get as much backfire from your posts.

I just hope that you're not saying here that you're going to continue being the same way and because you've posted this, nobody should be annoyed...?

Why should it be about getting annoyed and venting/not venting, anyway? Generally the stuff I post is geared towards generating a discussion, where we share opinions and learn from other people. I thought we were all grown up enough to not get abusive about something so trivial as our collective hobby - and also to understand that what's important to someone may not be important to another - if you don't see the point in discussing something, don't jump in and say "You're all so stupid for discussing this, it's pointless!", just leave them to it.

Oh, that comment about luck being a sign of a great photographer is a perfect example of how something can be taken more seriously in text than it would be, if they'd said it with tongue-in-cheek, which I think it actually was... annoying, isn't it? :p

I'll put my hands up to being the other 'member' (not sure if there was a double entendre behind calling me that, Oriel? Sure, we'll let it lie :D ).

I apologise(d) to Oriel for getting on his back about his recent and less recent posts where I felt they were uncalled for. It is difficult to see context and intent in text sometimes and I've been as guilty as he when I reacted.

Now...can't we just all be friends????

At least you are man enough to admit it, it says a lot more about you than other members who care to hide behind a user name for whatever reason.

Now I really do have a great fuzzy all over feeling!!! :D:D:D

Yeah, in real life you're worse!! :D

Well I've said more than enough on this matter in other threads before, so I won't drag those sentiments up now.

And while I may be accused of being biased regarding this matter I'll still say he is a great guy! And if it was any other mate on here I'd say the same. I don't have any issues with anyone on this forum, even Ryan! hehe (as much as he would like to think I have) ;)

I have stopped posting here lately, and while it may seem like that has been down to 'issues' with other members, its not. I just dont have much to say relating to photography at the moment! :(

Anyway, impressed with this post tbh, not many people would bother. Not sure what the effect, if any, will be but...
