Moving Sky card between boxes

My parents currently have Sky. I was thinking of getting them Sky+ and moving the existing Sky box to another room and using it for FTA channels.
However, I know that there will be times when it won't be possible to watch sports on the main tv (clashing with [insert name of soap here]).

Is it possible to move the Sky card between two boxes?
Will the card only work with the one specific box?

I don't think it's worth their while having a multiroom sub for the amount of times that the subbed channels would be used.

When the card is paired with the Sky+ box, the Sky Sports or Sky Movies channels (and a few others) won't work when you switch the card to the old Sky box.
