Anyone using Asterisk on analog line?

    Hi All,

    I have just recently setup an asterisk box to test out a few bits!

    Have pretty much managed to get most items working ok, but am having a little issue with the box not detecting hang-up's from in-bound calls.

    By default, I have all inbound calls going into a menu and then defaulting into a queue if they don't select a menu option. If the caller hangs up at any stage, the asterisk box does not detect the hang-up and therefore shows the caller in the queue indefinatley!

    I have read a number of articles on the web about settings to change in Zapata.conf and Zaptel.conf relating to the signaling and I have tricked around a little with no success (more tricking to do tho!)

    I thought I would ask here to see if anyone here who encountered the same problem and can direct me to the correct settings!

    I am using a basic Eircom line with a x100p clone FXO card!

    Thanks for the help,
    Jab

    Hi, I had the exact same problem when i tried setting up asterisk using trixbox last year. It took me 2 weeks looking at different peoples configurations to solve it.
    here is a copy of my zapta.conf
    ;
    ; Zapata telephony interface
    ;
    ; Configuration file

    [trunkgroups]

    [channels]

    language=en
    context=incomming
    signalling=fxs_ks
    ;rxwink=300 ; Atlas seems to use long (250ms) winks
    ;
    ; Whether or not to do distinctive ring detection on FXO lines
    ;
    ;usedistinctiveringdetection=yes
    busydetect => yes
    callprogress => no
    busycount=> 2
    relaxdtmf => yes

    usecallerid=yes
    hidecallerid=no
    callwaiting=yes
    usecallingpres=yes
    callwaitingcallerid=yes
    threewaycalling=yes
    transfer=yes
    cancallforward=yes
    callreturn=yes
    echocancel=yes
    echocancelwhenbridged=no
    echotraining=no
    rxgain=8.5
    txgain=4.5
    group=0
    callgroup=1
    pickupgroup=1
    immediate=no

    ;faxdetect=both
    ;faxdetect=incoming
    ;faxdetect=outgoing
    ;faxdetect=no
    ; UK BT CallDSign ring paterns
    dring1=366,246,216
    dring2=246,98,0

    dring1context=ringring_ringring
    dring2context=ring_ring

    cidsignalling = v23

    #echotraining = yes
    #echocancel = yes
    #echocancelwhenbridged = no

    ;Fax detection
    faxdetect=incoming
    group=1
    callgroup=1
    pickupgroup=1
    channel => 1
    ;Include genzaptelconf configs
    #include zapata-auto.conf

    ;group=1
    ;Include AMP configs
    #include zapata_additional.conf

    I think the Important bit is the busy detection that is the key to it working
    busydetect => yes
    callprogress => no
    busycount=> 2
    relaxdtmf => yes

    asterisk hangs up after 2 tones beeps of the tone that Eircom sends to show that someone hangs up.
    The other settings shuch as signalling are important too I think.

    I hope this helps

    I just found this that might also be a help
    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/418631.html
    I also looked into having the polatarity of the line changed after hang up. It took 5 or 6 calls to Eircom to find anyone who knew what i was talking about. And even After turning that on it still didnt work, after that I found a config that had the busy dectect and the BT ring pattern and it seemed to work I changed the busy decect to 2 and now if someone rings the office and hangs up in a queue the phones in the office ring twice. ring-ring ring-ring.
    It used to be the case that if someone rang in the evening when noone was there the phone wouuld ring untill the next morning.

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks for the info. Got it working with your help. Changed all of the settings mentioned and also dropped the wink time down to 100!

    Excellent stuff, thanks!
