I've heard many references to overclocking lately and was wondering if someone could explain to me what it means and how to do it.I've just heard mentions a lot here and there but I have no idea how to do it.
    Thanks
    Cian

www.google.ie would be your best bet to start. Then come back to us with questions.

A list of your hardware would also be good. As Anti said, read up on general overclocking principles on google, then look for specific guides for your hardware.

Oh, and cooling, you may need better cooling or you will damage your hardware!
