i have an archos 504 which i use as my mp3 player aswell, however its starting to weigh down my pocket. so I'm lokking for a small & light mp3 player with good battery life around the 8gb mark. I'm thinking maybe the iriver clix2 or x20 allthough cnet said x20 was a bit big.
i'm a bit of a geek so i love features so an ipod is out :D

    any advice/ where to buy?

How about a Cowon D2 (Review here)?? It's 4gb, but has a slot for sd cards so you can increase it to 12gb if needed... It looks mad, i was seriously considering it until i decided that i needed a 30gb (got an Archos 404). The touchscreen looks great, and apparently Cowon have the best sound quality of all mp3 players around..

If i remember it is kinda pricey for its size (i think the cheapest i found it at was £230, but i might be wrong on that)

How about a Sony NW-A808? I bought mine when it first came out so have had it for a few months and absolutely love it.

Stunning sound quality, photo's and video's look fantastic and it has an excellent 30 hour battery life.

Another vote for the Cowon (Iaudio) D2

I have one for a few weeks now and I love it...had an X5L before this.

Touchscreen works very well and sound quality is superb. Battery life is very close to the quoted 52 hours too.
Small enough to slip into any pocket. The only downside is the price but AdvancedMP3Players are doing a deal for the D2 plus a 4gb SD card for £164.99.
