Do most, or all, of these let you install poker software etc? Or can you install anything?
Looking to play my hu match and some cash.

    Thanks.

i've never been to an internet cafe that didn't allow you to download poker software, most PCs have one site or another on them already usually

I've been playing from internet cafes the last 4 months, and played for a couple of months when I started playing online. A lot of places you can't download anything and can only use certain apps. If you try a few, though, you will definitely find one where you can play.

    Thanks.
If you play a lot in cafes, would it not be better for you to get broadband btw?

to be fair, i'd only been in about 4 internet cafes so my sample size isn't huge, but they all had poker software- must've been lucky :p

I think these days you can run any software you like from a flash drive so you could have everything you need on your keyring and if I'm right that would also include all your player notes etc. I haven't tried this yet but I was planning to.

Pokerstars banned me for a while cause I played on their site from an internet cafe. Someone else had downloaded the software onto the computer before me and pokerstars investigate if more than one user play from the same IP address. I had to provide them with ID and bank details...

Absolute nonsense. It was probably someone using a bot or stolen CC on PokerStars before you. Also they randomly ask for identity proof.

It happens sometimes that I'm playing my usual $1.75 tourney on PokerStars (while working :D) and other customers are using PokerStars at the same time. Never had any problems what-so-ever with that, as long as you don't sit at the same table you should be fine.

I run two Internet cafés in Galway. One is in a hostel and doesn't allow software installation. The other is in Salthill and here we like gamers, be it WoW, GuildWars, MTGO or poker. In fact, I give a discounted rate to gamers. €2.88/hour. Anywhere else in Galway its between €3.00/hour and €3.60/hour. And for games you usually get charged more, about €5.00/hour in Clan Video! On top of that I give €25 cash in hand for anyone signing up to Ladbrokes in our café under my supervision.

Yeah it is 3.60 beside me(if it hasn't gone up, they took the price off the window), rip-off.
2.88 and this 25e cash in hand deal, fancy a new customer? :D

Places actually charge more for games? Woah.
Was always allowed play for free in Clan, so i didn't know that, jeez, squeezing the customer there.

Is that the cafe beside where Angels used to be? Just wondering - €25 would be nice for something I'd do anyway!

Computer Recreation And Internet Café (CRAIC)
    154 Upper Salthill, Galway

Note that on top of the €2.88/hour we also cap at €15. So no one ever gets charged more than €15/day for computer usage. You can sit here all day and pay €15 (obviously drinks/snack/printing are excluded from that cap).

And finally we have a PokerStars money transfer service. We can transfer up to $1,000/week from or to your account for real cash for a 5% charge. Examples: You pay me €790 in cash and I'll transfer $1,000 into your PokerStars account. And/or. You transfer $1,000 to my account and I give you €714 cash. (examples, real values are dependant on daily exchange rate)

For Ladbrokes there's a few offices around town where you can deposit and withdraw using cash.

Thanks, I think i'll have a look at your place, maybe play on ladbrokes or stars as opposed to just partypoker as usual. I'll have a look around salthill to see where it is, don't know where places are there, and maybe play there a bit during college term.
Having ladbrokes around and you for pokerstars to withdraw and deposit is handy as I don't really fancy ever getting a CC.

    That is correct.

Terms and conditions for the €25 cash in hand are:
    • You must sign up your first and only Ladbrokes account under my supervision.
    • I must see you play one/1 raked hand with your new account.
    • I pay you €25 cash in hand, this does NOT kill your first deposit bonus or any other bonuses Ladbrokes offer.
Any questions ring me on 086-3471879.

Edit: My colleagues won't be able to do this. I usually work Tuesday to Friday from 2pm to 9pm. You can also ring me to make an appointment if you like.

Think I'll sign up with them actually, after I check em out. Don't know their bonuses for joining.
I'm going to leisureland saturday morning, to the gym, your place anywhere near there?

Its on the Upper Salthill road, close to where it becomes Lower Salthill. Next to ex-Angels/ex-Oasis, two doors down from the Warwick hotel, across from Kellehers filling station and the new language school. Just look for an orange coloured shoebox. :D

    )

I am not sure what the circumstances were, but I can tell that it is not absolute nonesense. I had long email correspondence with them for a number of weeks, them trying to ascertain my relationship to two other pokerstars players, eventually they were happy with my explanation after I provided them with my ID and bank details. This was back in 2004...
