OK this is my 1st post on here; Cineworld are doing a season of classic movies, and I wanted to let everyone know.

They will be showing a different Film each month for one evening only; this month it is going to be Back To The Future on Monday 25th June.

You can book tickets now in the cinema, or online here:

Wow what are the odds that that this isn't just pure advertismenet, forbidden under charter rules?

Whaddya say guys - smack the thread closed or, seeing as people might actually want to find out about these movies in this case, be more lenient? I'm feeling democratic today.

I'd think I might like to hear about a few of these. BTTF on the Big Screen sounds great.

Ha.. tough decision... but it should probably be let slide as it is potentially pretty cool.

cine-man, is it Cineworld themselves running this? Or is it an outside party using booking their screen for the evening?

We could actually fit a Film Forum Boards Beers around this.

Wasn't that film on TV3 last weekend?

    A pure classic film, IMO.

Well, it's certainly cheeky, but it ultimately benefits the board.

How about we just send them a discounted advertising bill? ;)

In response to some of the posts; Cineworld are organising the screenings themselves and so far have 6 months booked in. They told me they had Top Gun in last month and it was so popular they decided to make it a regular thing. The screenings are going to be the last Monday of each month.

If the screenings are popular they are going to keep doing them; the 6 films they have booked in so far are:

June - Back To The Future
    July - Scarface
    August - Casino
    September - Rocky
    October - The Usual Suspects
    November - The Terminator

I was told the exact months for each film are to be confirmed, but this is their preliminary list. I hope you all enjoy the screenings as much as I will; I just hope they get Total Recall back on the big screen I love that film.

Sorry if my posts have broken any rules, I will go away and re-read the rules before I post again. I just wanted to let everyone know about the screening.

You're showing 'The Terminator' on the big screen  ?! All is instantly forgiven! If you're going to be posting such great news, ignore what I said earlier. People seem to like you anyway so what do I know ;)

they do this alot in new york. Cant remember the name of the cinema, but it was quite far downtown. While I was there I got to see Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Taxi Driver and some 3d sixties porno.

Thrilled that this is comign to dublin.

Any way to just buy a season ticket?

The only one on the list I wouldnt be too excited seeing is Rocky, not as big of a fan of that as I am of the others.

Does anyone know if these are 35mm screenings? I’d love to see these but the showtimes are really awkward for someone who doesn’t live in Dublin…

Since your film choices are made of pure win, you cant be hated.

I'm glad nobody seems to mind me posting this info on here, I was at Back To The Future and it was the 1st time I'd seen it on the big screen. It was great.

These are all going to be on 35mm as Cineworld doesn't have a digital projector.

I'm going to Scarface on Monday, they told me that there is only one evening show because the film is too long to fit on 2 shows after normal working hours (5/6pm).

I also asked them why BTTF had only been on in one of the smaller screens and they told me they had been testing the water to see what the demand was like before commiting any of the bigger screens.

Scarface is on in their 3rd biggest screen (250 seats) this month.

dang, I missed back to the future.

I am looking at the Cineworld website, I've set the date to Monday the 30th of July (last Monday of the month) but there is no
    non currant movie listed?
Pity they don't put a page on the site about this.
