Appointment of Taxi Regulator

The Department of Transport has today (Wednesday, 13 June 2007) announced the appointment of Ms. Kathleen Doyle as the National Taxi Regulator following a competition of the Commission for Public Service Appointments. The Commission for Taxi Regulation, established in 2004, is responsible for the development and maintenance of a regulatory framework for the control and operation of taxis, hackneys and limousines.

Ms Doyle who takes up her appointment immediately, has been Director of Operations at the Commission for Taxi Regulation with responsibility for the daily and operational management of the Commission and its staff. She has also worked in the implementation of the action points outlined in Driving Forward, the action plan for the Commission.
